Sculpting diverse facial identities in Create-A-Sim often reveals how difficult it is to achieve natural lip shapes using only the standard vanilla sliders. When I installed the Lips Presets 04 06 Sims 4 CC created by LutessaSims, I was eager to see how these three distinct mouth presets perform across diverse face structures and generational life stages. Containing two plump lip variations alongside an expressive thinner lip model that reveals natural front teeth, this package provides character creators with versatile mouth geometry for feminine Sims from toddler through elder.
The collection provides three distinct mouth presets designated as numbers four, five, and six within the CAS mouth category. Preset four features a full, plush pout with a gently rounded cupid's bow and soft lower lip cushion, making it an ideal choice for modern glam aesthetics and youthful lookbooks. Preset five offers a slightly wider, pillowy mouth with subtle indentations at the oral commissures, creating a natural relaxed expression that looks friendly in idle animations.
Preset six catches attention as the most unique sculpt in the set, modeling a slightly parted thinner lip that subtly reveals the upper front teeth during neutral expressions. Finding mouth presets that display natural tooth exposure without requiring custom smile sliders or pose player overrides is remarkably rare. While glamorous makeup options like the satin Annalise lipstick provide rich surface color, LutessaSims's presets supply the essential 3D bone architecture that makes facial expressions feel alive and human.
In CAS, inspecting the presets from side profile angles reveals natural projection. The lips curve gracefully from the philtrum down to the chin without jutting forward into an awkward duck-bill shape or collapsing flat against the jawline. The lip margins maintain realistic softness that blends cleanly into surrounding cheek and chin geometry.
I tested the presets across different jaw widths and chin heights. The mouth corner bone anchors adjust smoothly without distorting the underlying tooth geometry or stretching the skin around the nasolabial folds.
The philtrum indentation above the upper lip is sculpted with subtle depth. It catches ambient light naturally, providing a realistic anchor point for lip liner and custom skin highlights.
Adjusting the mouth width slider confirms that the tooth gap scales proportionally. The incisors remain cleanly centered within the oral opening without shifting sideways or poking through the lips.
One of the strongest technical accomplishments of LutessaSims's release is its complete support across all life stages from toddler, child, and teenager up to adult and elder. Custom face presets often break or produce nightmarish deformities when applied to younger life stages, but these presets scale down proportionately onto toddler and child facial rigs.
On toddlers, the full presets add adorable cherubic fullness that looks completely natural during crying, giggling, and babbling animations. The tooth-revealing preset six translates to children with charming innocence, suggesting the gap-toothed smile of early elementary school years.
Aging a Sim up from teen to adult and elder demonstrates flawless genetic continuity. The lip volume adapts to aging skin lines and wrinkles without jagged mesh tears or texture stretching around the mouth perimeter. This cross-generational reliability makes the presets indispensable for legacy family storytellers.
Even on elder Sims with pronounced mouth wrinkles, the presets maintain their defined structure without collapsing into the jawbone. The mouth corners remain level, avoiding that accidental perpetual frown common with certain vanilla mouth shapes.
I tested the presets against an extensive collection of custom lipsticks, including matte liquid lip colors, glossy balms, and soft ombré lip tints. Because LutessaSims sculpted the underlying vertex mesh while respecting standard UV mapping rules, third-party makeup textures align with the vermilion border cleanly.
Glossy lipsticks with high-intensity specular highlights catch room lighting across the plump curves of presets four and five with realistic luster. The inner mouth cavity on preset six remains properly shaded, preventing lipstick textures from bleeding onto the exposed teeth during resting poses.
Custom skin details, including lip clefts, mouth corner shadows, and chin dimples, layer over the presets without visual conflict. The underlying bone deformers keep skin overlays aligned during wide smiles and conversational facial movements.
I placed several Sims styled with these lip presets into an active neighborhood in Willow Creek to evaluate animation performance during daily live gameplay. During meals, drinking, intense arguments, and romantic kisses, the mouth meshes responded naturally to the game animation engine.
The exposed tooth geometry on preset six retracted cleanly during closed-mouth chewing and sleeping cycles, preventing teeth from poking through the lips when Sims are asleep. During speech cycles, the lips articulated consonants and vowels without polygon stretching or vertex fluttering.
Zooming out across bustling public venues showed that the LOD states scale down smoothly without sudden pop-in. The mouth silhouettes remain clearly readable from medium camera distances, preserving your Sims' distinctive facial character throughout live play.
Having three distinct mouth geometries that diverge from standard Maxis norms allows players to populate worlds with genuinely unique townies. Whether sculpting a high-fashion model with full lips or a relatable quirky neighbor with an endearing parted-tooth smile, these presets expand CAS storytelling.
The presets integrate effortlessly into diverse ethnic facial presets, accommodating broad, narrow, flat, or prominent facial structures without distorting vertex weights.
LutessaSims produced an exceptional set of mouth presets that expand the creative possibilities of Create-A-Sim significantly. With three versatile sculpts, rare tooth-revealing architecture, and flawless multi-generational stability, Lips Presets 04-06 are an essential download for dedicated character creators.
